Dear echolalia,
Actually i'm supposed to develop a "dynamic websites" for my school project. i will need to used Macromedia flash Mx too in this sites. I'm thinking of to use coldfusion instead of ASP. is it possible to used them both? to integrate both of them? what i mean is a same websites using coldfusion and also ASP to develop it? maybe some part of them using ASP and another using coldfusion?...... |

lol now i'm confused. But onslaught, since I have you in here, I'm doing a similar project. How complicated is making a full page using Flash FX? Can it all be done via GUI or is coding involved. It's nothing too complicated, just a snazzy page giving information. Thanks.

Just to be honest AGibel, I couldn't answer that question. I have only played around with flash a little. I am not a big fan of flash. I would recommend that you post this question on the flash forum.

ok, will do. That's right, weren't you the one saying you didn't like flash because of the speed issue?

Well, I think that flash is still not in it's prime because it takes bandwidth to use it, and there are still a lot of people using dialup for the internet. I don't really want to wait a few minutes for a web page to load. If you have a high bandwidth connection then this isn't a problem (for the most part), but the dialup people still need to be considered IMHO.

well, yes... unfortunately you're right
Its amazing how much broadband has picked up though. At this time, I do not know anyone who doesn't have broadband(even the AOL users lol) but I guess they ARE still out there. |

Broadband is still not widely available in my area. If you live in big cities then it is, but rural areas this is not the case, at least not where I live anyway.

Yeah, I live in a fairly small town. I guess out there in the great unknown they just haven't figured it out yet

most good sites have a non flash version of the site.
and it is kinda easy to make a flash site just to display some info. all you need is a scene for each "page" and buttons to jump from scene to scene. no coding =). if you dont use a lot of images. it'll be fast to load. and flash works with php. =) |

Ah good, that may just serve my purpose then
BTW: How is that full site look acheived? Just flash file imbedded into the HTML? |
