Different Browsers

I just installed Net Scape 4 and Mozilla to see how my site looks in them.

Mozilla did fine except it didn't show flash, but i can fix that.

The problem is with netscape 4, my site looks all messed up, even the simple bgcolor properties didn't work.

My question is. If things like that happen, what can i do to improve my site, and fix those bugs? Any tips will do.

Does it matter if my html in lower case?

thank you

Here's a tip for you: don't use NS4! It's really old/outdated and not used very often...

Good luck!

Thanks

what troubles me is that i viewed some other sites with NS4 and some of them looked just fine. Like Devshed.com.
My site is simple info site, not many graphics either, mostly table sizes that are messed up.

Any how to fix tips?

thank you

How to make your site work without NS4. Well, you can do a check for the user agent (browser) and then dynamically create the site tailored for the browser. You could make sure that all CSS has a non CSS equivalent so that NS4 can fall back on that. But... as previously stated, NS4 had approx a 4-8% market share 1 year ago, and that's probably dropped to about 2% now. Most of that is education establishments, so know your market, it could save you a lot of programming time.

thanks =). NS4 isn't really a problem.

I just need some tips on how to handle the differences in browsers, in general.

The browser detector thing is really great. I'm not sure where to get started tho. If there are any sites you can point me to.

Thank you
