Diving head first into Xcode

I recently started a blog with scriptogr.am - and i'm wanting to create a markdown editor for it. I'm using Xcode on Mac OS X Lion.

I know exactly how i want it, and what i need it to do...but what is my next step?

Any help would be appreciated!
