Dreamweaver

Hi
I thought I would make use of the library in DW4. I have produced a navbar
in fireworks 4 that consists of 6 buttons. I export this to DW. I then open
the .html file exported to DW and I highlight the fireworks table that
contains the buttons. I then add this to the library with the plus + icon in
Assets panel. I intended to drag this library item onto my pages and then
detach it from the library and alter it slightly so a different button is in
the 'DOWN' state on loading.
My question is this, adding the navbar to the library as outlined above
leaves behind all the code for preloading the images in the <body> tag and
all the javascript functions in the head. There must be a method of adding
items like this, with scattered code to the library that I don't know about.
Not been using DW for very long - any help please!
david

unfortunately i'm pretty sure that dreamweaver doesn't allow you to store behaviours in library items - i remember trying it a while ago and giving a huge sigh when i realised macromedia had left out a potentially excellent time saving function.
sorry i can't help - does anyone else know any different?

I'd have to agree with Duncan at least with Dreamweaver 3.

However I have sometimes found that Dreamweaver will add the relevent javascript code into the page if it recognises something that you can add from the behavoirs menu, eg: mouseovers.

Not sure if this will work with code produced in Fireworks however.

From what you've described, wouldn't it be easier to use a clipboard program like Quickphrase (http://www.typingmaster.com) and paste the relevent code into each page, especially if you're going to detatch the code afterwards.
