dreamweaver MX - frames
i have this page that i am trying to work with.
I have some frames set up http://web.csuchico.edu/~sd78/ left frame for the menu top frame for the header main frame for the content. I want to be able to use the same outside frames(left and top) so that everything stays the same. When I click on the links in the left frame(menu) I want it to load a new content page(main frame) where the old content page(main frame) was at. Can i do that in dreamweaver? If you need any clarification please let me know |

Hi,
Yes you can do this in Dreamweaver, just open a new file and click the Frames tab, you will then see a selection of helpful framesets which you can click and it will put it into the page for you. They have 2 which sound similar to what you are looking for. HTH

dreamweaver MX
Thanks for the help, but Im not sure you understand. I am talking about when the page loads on the web. I want to keep the frames on the outside the same(menu and header). When I click on the menu on the left I want whatever I link i clicked on to open into the content frame. Does this help you understand it better?
Any more help is defiantely much appreciated. Thanks, |

You just need to name your main frame, the one you want to change as something like 'content' and then every link you create in the header or left frame just make sure to include TARGET="content" after the HREF and it will load all new pages in the new frame.
