[Edited] This may be simple but I am lost
Ok..this problem has been happening for a while & I never worried but now its just plain too annoying & I need help
This is actually an Internet Explorer 6 question..maybe its because I am still on windows98 ( I know) or..i dont know.. Here is the problem.. whenever I open a new window from within a Web page (a pop-up window or child window), the window contents are not read & doesnt want to show the content in new windows (it appears to just hang). After opening a new window, I need to click Stop, then Reload. Then it works. My god you dont know how I have been looking for an answer to this & maybe I am not phrasing it right but NO ONE has been able to help me...PLEEAAASSSSEEEEEE!!!! somebody know what the heck this is before i pull my pretty blonde hair out!! & thats not a good look... thanks in advance.. Usually I'd smack you upside the head for putting one of those annoying "HELP ME PLEEEEASAAAE!!!" titles. But you're a girl... I'll help you
It's not windows98... Because I have it with IE6 and it's fine. But I remember the first couple of days after I installed it, it was doing that and it wasn't displaying pictures. But I suggest you uninstall it, and re-install it. |

Hopefully though, Gangsta got the point accross that you need to use better thread titles in future posts. Some members skip threads with titles like what you have. Normally that includes me, but I was curious I would uninstall IE6. If you can't get it to uninstall, then just reinstall it. You might also check the microsoft site to see if this has been reported as any kind of bug for which they have released a patch. That is, if you can find it on that enormous site. BTW. Which Windows 98 do you have? First Edition or Second Edition?

Oh... I have Win98 Second Edition, so that might be the problem. But it's IE6 you have to re-instal. And then if it don't work put back IE5 or something... There isn't a big difference (I think) |

There should be no issues using IE6 SP1 on Windows 98. About 15 machines I manage in the office run this perfectly each day. I would make sure you have IE 6 SP1 and then also make sure all the latest patches from windows update are put on there.
Or you can do what I do and use Mozilla ![]() |
