Exporting display?

I am wondering if there is a way to export the X windows traffic on a unix server to display the windows on my Mac. I know how to do this on the HP in my office (xhost <servername> then telnet to it and setenv <my unix box>etc.) but I have not been able to find (in the admittedly short time I've looked) the commands on my mac running OS X.

Thanks

I don't have experience in this area, but I have a friend who does. Here is his reply:

It's more involved than you may think.

Apple uses Quartz for it's display sub-system, not X Windows. Therefore
you do not get the ability to remote display to a Mac OS X machine.

There are ways around this however.
  1. You can run an X Server on your machine concurrently with Mac OS X.
You would simply use a hot key to switch between the two environments.
    Sorta like two virtual terminals.
  2. You can purchase Tenon Intersystem X Tools:

You'll be able to remote display X apps diretcly in Aqua. Much more
convienient.
