file type invisible on the web
This is probaly a stupid question but i figured someone here would know....
Suppose you have a perl or html file on the web like: How do some sites just show: Code:
http://www.example/test ...without the file type ending?? |

The test part is a driectory, and the page you are seeing is the index page of that directory (whether it be index.htm index.html index.php etc)

I believe it's also possible to do this with mod_rewrite and either add the extension invisibly or even move the word "test" to the query string.
The easiest way is as mttatkns pointed out. |
