Hi there
I am gonna return to university later in the year to do my final year in Comp. Sci., and as part of this, I need to do a final yr project. The technologies I am interested in are: PHP/ASP/JSP/SQL/Cold Fusion/HTML.. and I want to do an 'e-commerce' type project.. something along the lines of a database driven website which accepts online orders etc. That's the spirit of the project I want.. the question is... has anyone got any ideas on how to refine that and come up with an 'actual' proposal for a title or two? What I had in mind is stated above, but I would use a couple of scripting/web technologies and then compare them (according to some criteria), and discuss the advantages/disadvantages for a e-commerce/web-builder/software house. Anyone got any ideas or input? Thanks in advance. Mak. |

I would say the first thing you want to do is come up with a business plan. Approach the entire task as if you were really going into business with whatever e-commerce solution you developed. If you try to mimic reality, you will have a much more realistic project. Who knows, you might even make some money off of it. ;-)

I didn't think it was that funny. |

You're quite right. It was hysterics (I just came through the lifecycle of a dotcom - not pleasant, and I was only an employee...)

Oh, now your comment makes sense. I thought you were being serious, not sarcastic. ;-)
