forms "mailto" threads

Can (and if so how?) mailto work or be coded to provide a submission through the web page to post on a webpage directly to create a forum or thread? Is there anyway using mailto or appendto to create an automated thread for post and replies, and if there is can anyone tell me how? Instead of going to a "Thank You for submitting" page can it post the submission to the site for all users to view and respond to? How?

Thanks
Darla

Can't Understand Me!

That's because I'm so confused!

I was told to use the appendto script for a forum but I don't understand how I set up the appendto to post to allow posts to a thread and then refresh the page so the user who made a post can view their post and others' posts?

UGH!

Here's the page I've been looking at, I did the settings as described, I don't know what to do from here!

Thanks

Darla,

The CGI scripts you are refering to are in no way a standard functionality present in any other language that anyone on this board has had direct experience with.

These are custom CGI scripts provided by Earthlink for its customer's convenience. "appendto" is not a part of any language - its the name of a CGI script, and nothing more.

Your best course of action is to simply work through the examples that Earthlink provides on the links you've posted, and to figure out how to use these CGI scripts.
