hardware problems.

i first bought a motherboard. couldn't install windows XP on it and also had some other errors.

so i switched. but when trying to install XP i get same errors.

first it says it can't copy some files. then that disk drive couldn't be installed or the cd-rom.

the funny thing is i used the same hdd and the cd on another computer. it installed just fine.

so i tried just switching hdds. it told me the NTLDR thing error.(i havent' trid everything yet. like using same cd-rom. or formating the hdd to NTFS).

i tried clean install it gives me the above errors.

the motherboard i have now. never came with cables. it had only floppy cable and the one that goes into the yellow slot.

i'm putting everything together. this is what i have so far connected to the motherboard.

CPU,RAM,VideoCard,Floppy, CDRW, HDD.

i went to the bios. and it sees the primary master and the secondary master (hdd,cdrw)

i also tried putting my old hdd with windows 98SE on it. but it wont start in normal mode. only in safe mode. so i thought it was the drivers messed up from the first motherboard. i tried running Restore CD but it gave me an error

also. the computer that i installed windows xp on. i didn't build. it's an old emachines. if that's any help.

lol yay. me like win xp. 2.4 ghz cpu 512 ram.

it was the god damn cdrw. i put my old cd-rom in and it installed. me happy =)

talk about tough luck for my first time. who would've known.

lol, why don't you write problems down on paper or something? Seems like all you have to do is post your problem, and then you solve it
