Dear All,
Could you help me to complete the research and report on or before this month, please? 1. I need to complete a report (of 1200 words)of comparing between the differences between 3rd and 4th generation languages that validity the followings statements: * when compared to 3rd generation languages, 4th generation languages lead to increased productivity; * 4th generation languages allow for greater user participation; * 3rd generation languages are more machine efficient than 4th generation languages; * 3rd generation languages are easier to test and maintain than 4th generation languages; 2. complete a research(of 600 words) by using examples to discuss the follows: * Is there a movement from procedural languages to non- procedural languages in today's application context? * Are procedural languages still as widely used as they are before? Even I'd read most information about 3rd and 4th generation languages, but I can't find more detail about these! So I need some help to complete these report and research. Please give me a hand...... |

What SPECIFICALLY do you need assistance with?

i think this person needs to learn two things: these forums are for web developers, and cross-posting can be very annoying and dismotivate potential helpers (as if anyone was going to help them in the first place)

There's nothing wrong with asking for a bit of guidance on homework, but I got the impression right away that this person just wanted a laundry list of answers - hence my response for a SPECIFIC question to be asked.
Also, I didn't see the cross-post when I responded, but Hero already took care of that ![]() |

there may be nothing wrong with asking for help with homework, but how the hell does that topic relate to these forums? I bet it's the forum description... "you can ask for help on JUST ABOUT ANYTHING"

That's pretty much how I interpret the Beginner's forum. Basically, I have an nth level of patience for most posts in Beginners because it's for just that: total beginners (I did blow up at one guy once... search for the "skilled access developer" in this forum to find the thread).
I figure if you're totally new to the scene and you manage to at least get a newbie-esque post in the proper forum, you've displayed a decent level of community minded-ness. After all... just look at all the utterly stupid posts that clog PHP on a daily basis... but if they wound up here, I'd be very patient with (most of) them. And actually, the Devshed forums aren't just web dev forums. They're for system admin, app dev, whatever. The most generic way I can really describe them is for "open source" issues, and even that's not true since we have things like Unix, Windows, VB, etc. here. As far as homework goes.... well.... hang out on boards / forums / news long enough and you'll learn to sniff out people who are trying to get you to do their homework. If this had been posted somewhere else I'd have ignored it... BUT, if gashao actually comes back and has a very specific question or just needs some general guidance to get on the right track, I'll be glad to lend a hand. Of course... that's assuming that this individual is looking for that and not someone to just do the homework.... that won't happen. |
