Help with setting up DNS & Nameservers with Webmin

Hi,

I hope someone could guide me on setting up dns and nameservers on my server using webmin. I have created a master zone in BIND DNS Server. Have setup Address Records for ns1, ns2, www, mail and ftp for that zone. Is there anything else I should do? Is setting up ns1 and ns2 sufficient for nameservers?

Thanks,
Ashley

Hi,

You really need to be a bit more specific:

Where have you done the set up?
What is webmin? - typo?

Are you trying to do the setup on your own machine / host?

Br

Hi,

Webmin (URL) was the control panel I was given to manage the server. I also have SSH access.. Below is the DNS records file.

$ttl 38400
mydnsserver.net. IN SOA localhost. webmaster.mydnsserver.net. (
1030195300
10800
3600
604800
38400 )
mydnsserver.net. IN NS mydnsserver.net.
ns1.mydnsserver.net. IN A 216.53.000.001
ns2.mydnsserver.net. IN A 216.53.000.002
URL
mail.mydnsserver.net. IN A 216.53.000.001
ftp.mydnsserver.net. IN A 216.53.000.001
rdns-216-53-000-001.mydnsserver.net. IN PTR ourdnsserver.net
mydnsserver.net. IN MX 0 mail.mydnsserver.net

Another problem.. When I create a email account using webcp, the email address is created with user@localdomain and I can't enable the Sent, Trash and Draft folder in SqurirrelMail, which is part of web://cp package.

Hope someone who is familiar with webmin and web://cp could help me.

Thanks,
Ashley
