how much to charge for site?

hi guys!

i'm FINALLY done school and after much preparation i'm ready to start my own company. I've been mostly doing freelance here and there but haven't figured out a pricing scheme.
How much would you guys estimate for a site like this:

A sports camp's site where the coaches of the players could create accounts for themselves, enter their players names, pictures, and input all their statistics like- points, schools, shots, averages, blocked shots, etc...
Then a place for registering for the camp.
I've never had to charge for lots of backend programming (will be done in PHP, MySQL)

I usually ask like $300 for a 5 page site with minimum graphics, no custom or server site coding. Then charge by the hour for updates and changes.

Again, I'd really appreciate any advice, input, experiences you've had!!

- Thanks -

Hard to tell on such few infos...
For a real professional solution (including support etc.) i would roughly estimate about 5-10k$ and charge all-inclusive (hosting would of course go extra)

you did freelance already, so estimate the hours and multiply with your price per hour...

Just be honest in describing yourself as "just starting out".

Offer charge a daily rate (vs. a project rate) with an estimated number days... Offer to charge them 1/3 price for any extra days.

This spreads the risk... You don't work for nothing and they don't pay too much...

I don't know about New Jersey, but in Silicon Valley $300/day is decent if you are just staring out ...

...if you are going to focus on the programming stuff in the long run, you should find yourself a designer type person to partner with. I know from experience that UI and backend issues take completely different parts of your brain and it is too difficut to do both.
