how to hear wav files without download ?

To hear the files, just click on them (you must have a plug in for your browser that plays wav files). If you want to download them, pc users right click on them and then click on save link as and save them to your computer.

i went to a site with .wav files but when i click on it, it just prompts me to download ???

what do i need to listen to the .wav file without downloading ?

thanks

Technically, you HAVE to download the file one way or another, it's just a matter of whether or not the file is saved to a "permanent" location or not.

What system do you have, Windows, Linux, Mac? If you're on a Windows system, you should have the option to play the file through media player. Offhand, I don't know of any plugins that play wave files right in the browser (but I'm certain they exist). Go do a search on google for "wav plugin" and the name of your browser. That should bring up some results.

Well, for them to play directly in the browser you need to have a plugin installed. If you don't, the browser will give you the dialog asking what you want to do: Save it or Open it with such and such an application. Do you have a link to what you're referring to? Maybe if I can see what you mean I'll be able to answer the question better.
