I really Really need help...PLEASE PLEASE READ!!!!!

Ok, this is long so please keep up. by the way, Hi I'm Tara, and I'm so happy that I found this site (Google) any way, I am trying to create a friends forum, and in it I would like: those smilys, um the power to give people mods persisions, Bann people, have a screen where people have to register, like the one that we have for this one, I would like a message service, were people and pm each other, I would like a nifty background, and I would like loads of differnt parts like the one here, where thers a topic title, then you have the differnt things to choose, I hope you no what I mean, I would also like someone to be Co-owner, I would like well I guess you know what I mean, here go to: http://orchid.proboards.com/index.cgi and see how it's got, sections for certain thngs well I want that, see how its got that patten like background, I want that, see how it's got those, Register, log in, home etc, icons well I want them, I want exactly what orchids forum has, but to do with friends, now all I need help with is someone to give me an easy step by step instruction, on how to get that, and I am crap at the whole download stuff and stuff like that, I don't know what to do, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

3. www.devshed.com will give you step-by-step instructions.

My point is:
- you did not read the forum rules
- your problem would require a skilled programmer some weeks up to some months to solve or explain it to you.
- you should visit www.devshed.com for tutorials or buy a pre-made program.
you are new here. sorry that you met me first (you probably do feel the same eh, care to meet?) and you got me in a bad mood. i am no nice guy. but beware, there is much worse ones out there... hehe

Heh, M.Hirsch can actually be a nice guy. Believe it or not...
Anyway Tara, a good starter (unless you want to do it all yourself) is to go to www.sourceforge.net or www.hotscripts.com and search for bulletin boards. Or hit Google again. Most BBS usually come with docs on how to set them up etc, and there are quite a few of them.

Hi Tara,

if your question is, in short: "I want a forum that I can easily configure, with a lot of options", then you should definitely check phpBB2 (PHP Bulletin Board version 2) at http://www.phpbb.com.

It's, as the name says, a forum written in PHP. If you visit the site, check out the Demo section. You can see how you, as the admin, can configure all the options. It's a nice prog and it's free.

As far as your knowledge concerns: you should be able to download the prog and install it on a webhost with PHP-support. I guess this will be explained in the progs documentation.
