Question IIS -> Office 2000. newb. question

i am not very experienced with web dev. so i had no idea what's going on. just installed IIS on an XP PRO computer - our server. it worked fine. except now, every time i run a specific database program (i'm interning at an insurance company and they use 'GBS' - an industry-specific, data-entry program), the computer runs Office 2000 installation 4 times in a row. the message box states something to the effect of 'features you require are found on Office 2000 cd'. thats BS cause my database was, and still is, fine. i looked in the events-browser and apparently its triggered by 'msi.dll' in my 'system32' folder. everything else works fine. i know its not 'GBS' and has to be a problem with microsoft/IIS. should i delete the offending dll? any help would be appreciated,
thanks!

I'd say it's trying to install the office web components on the server, or even possibly the ODBC add-ins for IIS.
Have you tried completing the installation.

i dont have the cd, but regardless i dont want office 2000 on the server. yesterday i set-up a new policy in the admin. tools to disallow the offending dll to run - but that disabled MS WORD for some reason. today, i got pissed off and deleted MS OFFICE 2000 from the PC. now MS WORD is gone! only problem is: it HAS TO BE THERE. we dont have the disk. how could i possibly get ANY version of Word on there before anyone notices? (i checked the XP disk and its not on there - or if it is, i couldnt find it) any help would be appreciated.

msi.dll is the Microsoft Windows Installer, thats the name of their new setup program package. I would go to their site, download MSI 2.0 and upgrade to the latest version, the one that comes with Office 2000 is a bit old
