iis web hosting problems
hi everyone

I'm trying to host my site on the web with no luck! If I type my ip address on my web browser the page comes up, however when someone from anothe machine trys it it says server page cannot be displayed, anyone got any ideas?? has it got anything to do with permissions? any help would be much appreciated!

Are you sure you're using your internet ip address? Are you behind a router? Are you using localhost or 127.0.0.1?

thanks for the reply! I'm using the ip address that I get when I run ipconfig, I'm not connected to a network or a router, just a stand alone computer with a isdn line

Are you running any firewall? does your ISP allow you to run a webserver? Some of them firewall them out. What is your IP address, is it a "live" IP?
