Question In the beginning there was PHP/MySQL

Hi all,

I am interested in using the OSCommerce shopping cart that came with my host package at Unacom.net. However, I have absolutely no experience working with either PHP or MY SQL. I am a tremendously fast learner though and very interested in learning both. Can anyone suggest some well-written, step-by-step instructions and/or a reasonably well-written primer on both? I am a technical writer, by trade, so I'm familiar with some of the deplorable documentation that's out there. Most assumes prior programming knowledge without stating that assumption. I really need to start, though, at the dummy level. I can advance, quickly, from there. Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Laurie Stevens

osCommerce seems to be pretty easy and up front to use. I jsut set one up for a customer yesterday.

If you want to learn PHP, break the program and then have to fix it. Seems to work for me.
