Installation Problems

My friend just got a new motherboard and 80GB HD.

EliteGroup Mainboard P4
Hitachi 80GB Internal HD

He installed the mobo into his case and connected everything together. Everything seems to work except when he turns his comp on, his monitor just shows No Signal and doesn't do anything. The new HD is a replacement and is blank. He has a Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 as a gfx card. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this problem? He tried another gfx card, an old ATI 64mb card, and it had the same problem.

first check that you connected everything right.

then try a different motherboard with that monitor. if it dont work then prolly your monitor is messed up. if it does. the your motherboard must be f*cked up. get an msi =)

if there was something wrong with the hdd. the mobo wouldnt detect it. or the os wouldnt install. or some other minor problems.

when the computer boots it dont need a hdd.

Check out this thread http://forums.devshed.com/showthrea...t=no+AND+signal
He also got no signal (think it turned out to be a bad mobo or something like that) but you can try the suggestions there.
