Java APP. Not refreshing the desk top

I have a runnining java aplication. It has a main menu like that of Jbulider. you open an item,the sub menu opens and now you clic out side the manu area (i.e. on the desktop area) the sub menu is not dis appearing i.e not getting refreshed because there is no back ground on the desk top.

Can any one suggest a solution to this problem? PL. respond at mvr.murty@kshema.com
