large jpg won't show in netscape
I have a web page that shows a large jpg, about 1MB. It displays fine in Opera, and IE, but not in Netscape 4.7X. It just shows the broken graphic icon.
Any ideas why, or how to correct? |

does the file name have a space in it anywhere? the file name or even the folder its in will cause N4.x to come up w/ a broken link... it might not be the size causing this.
example: This will cause problems: /images/products/really big image.jpg So will this: /images/new products/really_big_image.jpg This won't: /images/new_products/really_big_image.jpg |

My file name had the underscore. I changed it to no spaces or underscores. Still shows broken graphic icon.

are you using linux or unix?
what are the image permissions set to on the server? |

Unix I suppose, and I am not sure of the permissions. However, the graphic shows in IE and Opera and has the same treatment as all my graphics so I don't think it has to do with permissions. At the time I could even type in the url straight to the graphic and it would return as a broken graphic link (like URL) I have solved the problem by slicing the graphic in to three files and lining them up side by side. Thanks for your attention.

Man, I'm sorry I couldn't nail the problem for you... glad that you did find a solution for it, though!
