Learning 'C' Languages...

Hi,

If you couldn't already tell, I'm looking to get into programming with C, or C++, or whatever the other languages might be. What I want to ultimately get into, is game coding/programming, or maybe just MOD coding, say for instance, with the Half-Life SDK. I know it's going to take time and commitment, but i'm willing to put my time and commitment into it, so I stumbled on this forum in hopes of finding anyone who would be able to provide me with a few webpages, resources, and perhaps books (not so much books, because I don't have a lot of money) to help me get started and into programming. If anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help from anyone out there.

Ivor Horton's "Beginning C++"

it starts off as if you know nothing about programming.

and i think to learn something like C++ you'll need a book. all the online stuff is for improving

I'll back wannabe up on this one; while I'm not a C/C++ programmer, I have Ivor's Java book (Wrox is the publisher of both of these, btw) and the guy is just amazing... his writing style is very easy to digest, and the examples are real-world, not "hello world" style.

Programming, coding, scripting... different words for the same thing.

Be more than happy to help you - feel free to PM me w/ your question(s).
