Hi,
I would like to connect my two computers with eact other. They are connected with Peer to Peer so physical networking is O.K. I have installed Linux on one machine which should be Linux server and other is running Windows 98, Client. I am very much confuged with DNS server. As per my knowledge unless I setup DNS server, I could not make this as Intranet OR SAMBA network. I tried to refer book DNS and BIND by O'rally but could not understand. Can anybody guide me how to configure DNS on my systems. Sorry to say I am a new to this and expecting detail step by step guidance. Finally I want to make this work as Intranet OR SAMBA network. Regards. thanks in advance. Regards, |

This isn't true though. All you need is to setup your /etc/hosts file appropriately. I no longer (3 years) run any Samba or Linux ever since I migrated to *BSD, so I can't give you details specific to Linux/Redhat. Why don't you go to http://dcfonline.sfu.ca/ying/linux/samba/index.html |
