linux needed reboot, messages file???
after the Network Admin rebooted my Linux box today, the following entry is showing up in /var/log/messages. I just need to know where to go to find out what it means. - or you can tell me if you know. :^>
May 9 12:28:45 [myservernamehere] sshd: log: Connection from *.*.*.* port 2758
May 9 12:28:45 [myservernamehere] sshd: fatal: Bad protocol version identification: Big-Brother-Monitor-1.7a
oh yes it seems to write this every five minutes or so.
This is a real shot in the dark, here...
You've got Big Brother running (http://bb4.com/) and it's trying to establish an ssh connection, but your sshd isn't letting it, because it doesn't recognize the client?
yes pieux, that is what was happening thank you for insight.
Cool. Not bad for not having heard of Big Brother before.
