Need a Little Guidence

Hello there Dev Shed.

I go by the username Mashuga31 anywhere on the internet. I'm an 18 year old recent high school graduate, having completed my schooling halfway through my senior year in early 2012. I'm now looking at prospective colleges in California and hope to someday enter the field of medicine.

I registered at Dev Shed today because I had an idea that popped into my head of a simple program that would help me organize my time a lot more efficiently, but I had no idea where to begin as the only bit of programming I know is a very modest amount of html.

I was hoping that people here could help me get started in the right direction.

Depends on how you want to use it. If you'll only use it on a single computer, you can install XAMPP and get a very simple database-driven website in PHP off the ground in only a few hours.

If you want to use it on your phone, best learn objective C or java (depending on the phone).
