Need some help please!

Ok, I run Windows 2000 Professional on my computer along with IE 6 as my browser.

For some reason I cannot view java applets or any item you should be able to see as with Macromedia Flash Player. I have changed most of the settings I could find including security and privacy settings but no luck.

I cannot even install, from Macromedia's site, their Flash Player. I have downloaded the stand alone version and installed it but it still will not work.

When I do a right click, then, "Save Target As" to download an applet file, I get the following message;

"Internet Explorer cannot download from winopen(cliparr[0]);."

or if I use Download Accelerator Plus, I get this message;

"Could not accept [javascript:%20winopen(cliparr[1]);] as a URL"

I cannot seem to locate anything in forums and knowledge bases.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Thank you!

Okay, Standalone version of flash is not for IE usage, its for Mozilla/Netscape/Opera. You need to install the ActiveX version, a popup should appear asking if you want to install it.

Now as to the java applet, the link is to some javascript code (note: Javascript and Java are NOT the same). You cannot save the javascript, or use a download manager for it.

The ActiveX popup did appear on the web page to download. I clicked it and it took me to a page where, when it was downloaded and installed I should be able to see the picture.

Nothing would happen after going to the download page. The page would load and finish but nothing would download or install. Have tried this several times.

I am sorry for not being more clear. Not sure how to describe this since never ran into it before.

Your help is appreciated!!!

Thank you!
