Can Anybody please help me,
I have just about had enough of netscape navigator and its Bugs/Features :-) I need to force netscape to display its scroll bars or remove the white space it leaves when they are not displayed. what is the best way to do this i dont actually want the page to scroll i just want rid of the anoying gaps.

This really isn't a bug. It's just the way it's built. When the page isn't large enough to allow it to scroll, the scroll bar doesn't appear, but you cannot get rid of the white space as well. The only thing that I can recommend would be either utilizing DHTML for a non-functioning scroll bar or just encourage your viewers to upgrade to NS6 (I think it handles this differently and doesn't display a white space.) Also make sure that your margins are all set to zero in the body tag (i.e. <body topmargin="0" bottommargin="0" rightmargin="0" leftmargin="0"> ), and that will account for most of the other browsers out there. For some DHTML check out http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ or http://www.dhtmlshock.com/ if you want to try that approach.

Netscape... what are they doing
Netscape... about as much fun as using sanding tools on your testicles. I know the inconsitancies exist to make some kind of 'browser war' but if they were just produced to the same standard then folks could make a sensible choice. Currently you got yourself developing for two diffent standards - real headache - plus various versions... always some creep who says:
"We only use NS3 in our office." - Or "I want to recognise users but with cookies disabled." - and "Why is next week an optimistic project timescale." - Thanks for letting me moan, I needed that AKS

i have breakdowns on a regular basis because of netscape garbage.
