I'm trying to install MySQL and i'm stuck at the "make" command. I have searched the web and everywhere i read "just type: make" and then "make install", but it doesn't work for me, it seems i'm the only one cause i haven't been able to find anything anywhere online with other ppl having this "make" problem.

As far as i can understand i'm missing the "makefile", but i don't have a clue how to get that file.

I'm really stuck here, and i'm very open for suggestions ;-)

    Thanks,
    Kieran

The "Makefile" is a file generated by your configure script. You first need to run ./configure, then make -> make install.

I've already done that (sorry, i forgot to mention that). No makefile seems to be made, though by running configure it says it's creating some default tables. I am using the --prefix too.

I'm trying to follow the http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/P...inglySeamless/ tutorial.
