newbie font question
A few visitors to my site are seeing a different font than the one I am attempting to use. I had them check and they do have the font (Lucidia Console) on their computer, so I am a bit at a loss as to why this is happening.
I also had one of them check and they are using the exact same version of IE that I use. Thanks in advance for any help. |

it's not a good idea to use an uncommon font for web because there are many popular browsers out there and all the people doesn't use the updated browser version. They also use various platforms.
i'm not sure about the problem u got. maybe the browser doesn't support that font or disable from Brower options. u can use custom images if u like to use that font for some titles or topics header. if u use HTML font tag. Try to define that font using css. u can also use alternate font series like <font face=”veranda, Tahoma, scan”> etc. in this way if the browser fail to load the first font it’s looking for the second and continue like this. |

I'll give the css a try.
I'm probably just going to change the font, since most people have indicated that it's not a very good idea to use non-standard fonts on pages. I was just hoping someone would know why two computers (basically identical) running the identical browser with the same patches applied would show different fonts. Thanks tho, I'll post how it turns out for me. |

You could always provide the actual font for download (i.e., on your help/support page) and tell them to save it into ther %SYSTEM_ROOT% directory.
Of course, it's better just to use a generic web-friendly font! CSS is definitely the way with this one. Nao |
