    Newbie help. Please!

    Hi
I am a bit stuck on where to start with this. Hopefully someone will understand.
Basically I am running rFactor (driving simulation game) in a commercial environment with
the same edited version of the program on a number of machines. My old man is having trouble
in making the modifications that we require (eg. different skins on cars and different tracks.)
Surely there must be a way that I can write some sort of program that I can tell to delete some
contents of the original program and replace with the modified version that I have already made
into a .rar file ready to go.

    Hope someone can help
    Simon

We need a LOT more information than this. Theoretically, yes, modifying a game is possible. That's where Counter-Strike came from. Some random game might not be so easy. RAR files have nothing to do with this.

    Mmm - lemme see.

You joined random forum instead of visiting the home site.

How many people do you think would know about rfactor on devshed?
How many people would you think would know about rfactor on the rfactor site?

In other words, you paid for it.

    Their support site has:
    - a link to something called "forums"
    - a link to something called "contact/support"
    - a link to something called "development corner"

So does this mean you're OK with the actual modification of a single file, and it's all about keeping track of the right files and building the system?
