newbie here asking general qustions
hi people!

I'm extremely new to flash, and excited about it..

I just started on this book Marcomedia flash Training from source.

I am really excited about internets future as I see flash web site can bring a whole new life to old static website.

However, I would like to know..what must one learn about after basic client side of flash..

Like databases..languages...??

any books to recommend?

you should learn ActionScript (for Flash5.0 and MX: ECMA-Script aka JavaScript) and basics of client-server networking.
then you can use flash for chatting, loading data from servers, ....

and you should read about plugin embedding in html to make your flash apps work with all browsers and all osīs...
(no, it is not done using <embed> or <object> tags only!)

then you need to learn html, because not all users have flash and you need a static version of your pages additionally for them (unless you have a closed usergroup or you can do without all the security-aware and business users)

i know no books, sorry i read everything on the web.

Oh i forgot to include that I know the basics of javascript and html.

However, what must one know about databases (SQL, Coldfusion,PHP..etc)...because I know the codes to retrieve data in SQL only...but how to I link them to what I learn in Html and Javascript and flash.

What softwares..installations..languages to make a complete web solution in reflect of what I learn:

Html
Javascript
SQL (retrieving of data commands only)
Flash

How to I link all these up to databases..?

Any web resources for newbies to get started?

Actionscripting looks tough..but I'll take the advice and try hard..
