Banner ads are okay, but they're ugly and don't earn much. Paid memebership doesn't attract many members and people resent being forced to pay to see things. Funding a successful fan website yourself can be very financially painful.

Is it possible to set up some kind of "tips" system where people may contribute a donation to the site if they enjoy it? For it to work it would need to be able to accept money from any country in the world, accept small donations (50c or $1) without them being eaten up by fees, and be able to pay out to Australia ( where i live!).

I think this is a much better way to cover costs, because people can give what they feel is deserved, and at the same time feel good about helping a site they like.

Are there any professional "tipping" services available?? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Neil
