    password protect directory

I have a directory on a website that I want to protect with a password.

The site uses ASP and is on a Windows server. I don't have access to .htaccess files.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I can only find basic scripts to protect one page at a time.

Do you have any file access? If so, locally generate your own .htaccess and 'users' files (from htpasswd) and upload them.

PS: I'm assuming you're running Apache based on your previous mention of .htaccess.
Two things have come out of Berkeley, Unix and LSD.
It is uncertain which caused the other.

Thanks GNUbie. Sorry, bad grammar in my post! I can't use htaccess.

I have got round the problem by creating a session when the user logs in.
