how would i run php in apache under a linux system

Assuming you're using a redhat 7.1 system, as you alluded to in another post, and you're using the RPM version of apache, you'd just install the php RPM and edit your httpd.conf to reflect that you added the module.
The PHP docs about installation are pretty good on telling you what to add to httpd.conf. Any questions having to do with configuring apache should probably go in the apache forum. |

If you are installing PHP4 and apache from scratch (compiling the source code) there is a really good tutorial here

grab up some slackware the whole 8.0 distro is built
beautifly full install change couple perms on mysql and your set not to mention the rest of the system |
