Popups and Banner question

First time on this board -- have a major computer problem that I can't seem to fix.

Certain webpages that I browse all the time from my computer are now being forwarded...i.e. when I type in a URL address, the page is quickly forwarded through pop.rfwrd/popup.php? etc. through URL and then to a blank, white web page where internet explorer then tells me it's "done". So instead of seeing the page i'd like to view, there's now just a blank page.

Has anybody dealt with this before or know how to fix it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi, I got hijacked by some dodgy search company once. I had to go into my registry and delete a whole load of stuff. can't remember what though. Try earching for the URL that you listed. If you find it, delete it. MAKE A BACK UP FIRST

Tips: Use Firebird / Morzilla, anything non IE, this seems to happen exclusively to IE browsers.
Get a pop-up killer, or set your security settings to a higher level.
