Well, I'm a bit new to programming, only worked with Internet-based languages like Perl and JavaScript.
Yesterday I bought a book about C++ (S.Prata), and I'm very eager to learn, but I need som advice. (Q) I'm working on a Windows 95 system (dont ask me why!), and I need a good compiler for my c++ programs, could you recommend me one. ------------------ Excuse my bad english, but I'm still from Sweden. |

well i learned using Visual Studio...but i dunno if you want to spend the money on getting the CD...it has a good IDE, but in all honesty, I would suggest returning the book and buying a java book. in my opinion java is similar to C++ but better. some books have a CD in the back that will have a compiler on it...try to find one of those.

try to get a unix/linux account somewhere and use g++ (gnu c++ compiler). It is the best way to learn.
