Semi-compiled code

Hi guys

I am new to programming and have been tasked with find out more about "semi-compiled code".

I cannot find much information on "semi-compiled" code, could someone please briefly explain to me what this and the advantages of it?

Which language are you referring to?

For PHP, for example (a web scripting language), there are types of "semi-compiled" code where the code is "semi-compiled" for security or speed reasons. I'm guessing you're referring to another "compiled" language, though...
