Hi,

are you sure you have write access to the directory (site folder)where you try to save the document?
To be sure you could try some other folder on your local disk. First try to create a file in it - but not from within dreamweaver. If it works, try from within dreamweaver.

Regards,
Stef.

thank you for your prompt reply, i am trying to create it on my personal laptop so have unlimited access to any folders created or existing. I have tried what you advised and it seems fine and also creating folders in Dreamweaver works, the only thing is it does not allow me to update any of the files once they have been created?

How did you define your site?

If you have :

Remote Info | Access -> None

Try

Remote Info | Access -> Local/Network

Are you runing a localhost webserver?
