hi everyone i recently got a DSL connection and managed to get an older machine of mine up as an apache server on it (right now an old mac running linuxPPC, hope to replace it with an old PC running linux soon) and was wondering if anyone could help me out...i was hoping to be able to set it up with a name like table7.grundlethenifkin.net or something like that and am not sure what is involved or how to go about doing it...
anyone?... thanks for the help... ://nifkin |

You need to first register the domain name, then whoever does your DNS (maybe yourself) can set that up for you. If you decide to do DNS yourself I would suggest using BIND, otherwise just tell the ISP what you want and they should be able to set it up.
