Urgent!! Pls help....

Does anyone know what is "EDI"? Could it be reasonable if I use e-mail format to implement that?? Please reply me as fast as possible.........thanks!!

EDI stands for electronic data interchange. It's a rather lengthly definition for exchanging data within a given industry sector. Email just ain't going to come close

EDI is a definition of how to exchange data. It's been around for a while and is well entrenched in big industry. Each industry sector has slightly different formats to allow for the particular needs of the sector.

How do you get it?......... Well, I don't know. Where are you coming from? Is someone wanting to exchange EDI data with your company? There are service bureau type companys that for a fee will accept your data formats and submit them in EDI format to other companies and also take other companies EDI transmissions and translate them to your data formats. Do a search on the web for "EDI" and you'll come up with some of these. You can also hire a developer to build you some software to do this, or buy some 'off the shelve' software packages that do this. These packages are usually very expensive large applications for running certain types of businesses.

Oh.....I am final year student that needs to do a final year project. In my project, something is related to this and I lacks this type of knowledge......so I have to ask many ppl and books to read about that.....
