using one dd menu to populate another

hi,

i would like to have a drop down menu with a list of actors and when you select an actor another drop down menu is populated with a list of movie trailers of specific movies that actor has starred in of which when the movie is selected from the 2nd dropdown menu this will pull up and play the video clip trailer. i have flirted with javascript to do this but am stuck. i am using php/mysql/dreamweaver for this site so i would prefer to keep it in this realm but have no idea if that is possible as i am a beginner at this. any suggestions or code that would do this for me would be of great help. thank you in advance.
