What Technologies?

Hi, I've been learning Java for the last 3 months or so alongside my degree modules. Next year I have to do a project. I have a choice as to what project to do. Since ive been learning Java i thought i would use that in my project. I wanted to make a Online module registration system. It is to do exactly what it says, allow students to register for modules online. I know a few other technologies but think they wont be used here. Im lost I need to know what technologies i would need to learn in-order to implement this. Please can anyone suggest any and a good source to learn it from too. Would be grateful for any help.
