What to do? I'm a newbie

Here's my deal. I've been doing design a while but I know just about nothing in programing. I know a bit of PHP (setting vars, print, switch...) but I need easy to understand reading material on basic programing structure. I've read a lot of tutorials but they're all basic stuff like how to do an if...else; but I already know that. Anyway, Im having a hard time, can anyone help me out.
