window size and position

Hi

I want to open a new window when a user clicks on a thumbnail.
that bit is simple enough, but i want to make the window go to the smallest size possible to fit the content and also to be centred in the screen

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but you could use window.open() and set the width and height parameters, so that you can control the window via javascript.
