    In need of some guidance...

    Hi guys,
I have been looking to learn how to program at some level for a while, and have been doing some research on where to start. However, this has just left me more confused than before. There are also no classes for anything like this at my school or in my area. So I ended up here.

I am kind of just looking to be pointed in the right direction, and any help is appreciated. Even if it is just telling me language that would be best for me to try to learn or something.

    Thanks,
    -Liz

I think the Microsoft Virtual Academy is a great place to start learning. You can find various programming courses, all taught by Microsoft experts. Take this C# beginners course which will walk you through writing code, getting the tools, understanding, debugging features, customizations and much more!

I'd recommend Java for someone learning to program. It's a good, clean, object-oriented language.

The Mozilla Developer Network is a great place to look for information.
