Backup Program

For a project I am doing for college I'll be using FreeBSD 5.4 mainly as a learning experience I am yet to even use FreeBSD or any BSDs for that matter, so not too sure what entirely to expect so Im doing plenty of research before I begin.

Our instructor has given us fair warning the hard drives being used since they are removable have been proned to being used by other classes by mistake, crashes and again accidental dropping of hard disks so we should make a backup/mirror system in place.

Now Ive been looking around and found Mondo, unfortunately it appears from my understandings that the FreeBSD port is outdated, and since I'll be using 5.4 there is no guarentee it will work. Unfortunately Im a little struck for time with this project and cannot attempt to make sure the port will work for certain, and was wondering if anyone else is aware of a program similar to Mondo, I am aware of a few commercial programs however this is for educational purposes and cant exactly go out and purchase one of them for it.

If anyone knows of a similar program or even a more updated port of Mondo it would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies for the late reply, thanks for that link I must have overlooked it before when viewing the manual.
