BSD pros
I am migrating currently migrating from windows to Linux, the migration will be complete when I get more applications work under Wine. This one is probably an old one for you guys, but what does FreeBSD have to offer me that the likes of Linux doesn't. Could it be that BSD have a better support community while Linux support is fragmented too much between to many different distributions?

Nothing. If you are using linux to run windows apps with wine, forget about freebsd. In my words, I'd say: FreeBSD is for professional applications. Running windows apps in an emulator is not very professional, so this part has been neglected at bit. M.
