BSD's iptables equivalent

First I would like to say I am very new to bsd, I am not new to linux, I just decided today to make the move to bsd because I wanted to try something new. So far I like it, it doesn't seem to be any "harder" then linux just differant.

My question is though, I am thinking about setting up a bsd server with apache2 php4 mysql and vsftp. Well I want to install a firewall like linuxes iptables. So I did some research and it appears there is 3 differant ones. I am currently using freeBSD. I tryed looking up information on each one seperatly to see which one was more for me. I am looking for one that is like iptables, with configuration. I like how i can just add rules on the fly and change them. The syntax and how to do it is very simple and easy to pick up. However with pf and ipf, it seems a bit more complex. I havn't yet gotten the idea of rebuilding the kernel I am not sure where to begin there with bsd.

Does anyone have any places I can start with this type of thing? I can't imagin it being very complex, I just can't seem to find very much information about this on any web sites. Also does anyone have a favorit firewall they like the most from bsd that I should pick? If so please explain pros and cons of yours compared to the others. THank you.

Depending on the BSD flavor, there are different firewall packages. For FreeBSD, see this: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.IS...walls-apps.html
