Can't configure X server
Hi,
I recently bought a new Compaq machine and installed FreeBSD 5.1 on it. the problem is as usual with X server configuration. i just can't make it work. i am a newbie and i may not know something that could prevent the server from working. In Windows, I looked at my hardware parameters, and they appear as follows: Monitor: Compaq 7550, Horizontal 30-86 kHz, Vertical 50-140 Hz. Video Card: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/PE/GV 56M. it seems that such a video card is not listed in the xf86config menu. i think i've already tried all option combinations in xf86config. please help. |

You need to go to the XFree site and look through the documentation on supported hardware to see if there's support for that card.
